Enviroscaping completely transformed our back yard – and they did it fast. We began in April, and our daughter wanted to throw a high school graduation party on June 2. Lalo’s crew removed the brick pool decking, and their specialist artisan laid down concrete faux flagstone and built beautiful faux-rock walls. He added the jump-off rock my sons wanted, a “cave” for the pool equipment, and a sink and bar to serve food. The crew worked six days a week. They overcame obstacles and finished on June 1, as promised, honoring their commitment so our daughter and her friends could have the time of their lives.

As an associate engineer for the Goleta Water District, I met Lalo Mora when we worked together on a demonstration garden for drought-resistant plants. He was a great partner, and not only because of his extensive knowledge. At the time, one of my family members was seriously ill, and there were a couple of times when I couldn’t be there to do my work on the project. Lalo told me, “Do what you have to do. I’ll take care of it.” And he did. He came in on Saturday, off the clock, to fill in for me. It shows you the kind of character he has. We were also on a tight budget, but if Lalo thought something should be replaced in the garden, he put it in – on his budget, not ours. Another example of the man’s character. I retired in 1999, but if I ever get to do another garden, I’ll absolutely want Lalo and his staff on the job.
